30 Days Day 09- A Close Up Of My Day

Unfortunately, I don't know how interesting a close up of my day today will be. So, I thought I would share a few pics of my work day.

Starting off with coffee from Bread Co

This is what my normal "school-day" workday looks like. Then it is home to homework or class, and then anything goes. Most likely making some jewelry while watching some tv, or playing with the cats. Exciting, right? Haha. What is your normal day like? Action filled? Work filled? Let me know in the comments below, or reply on twitter with the hashtag #30dayshathnovember. Want to join in? Thirty Days Day 08- Three Inspirational Quotes

I have a few quotes that I have been trying to live by lately. Sometimes I have to repeat them to myself on days I want to give up, or am tired, or being lazy. Here is the first one:

This is something I try to remember so much, it is the screensaver for my phone. And I look at that constantly, so I can't forget this one. Especially days I get home and want to do nothing but watch a marathon of Gilmore Girls on DVD instead of doing homework, or working on my jewelry (which can be found at the link above next to the About Me section). As far as I know, it has an unknown author, but if anyone knows it let me know so I can credit them!

The next one is one from Albert Einstein:

I liked this one so much when I first read it that I printed out and framed it for the patients at my work. I will never be as smart in math as some people, or be able to play guitar as well as, well any famour guitarist, but everyone is good at something. It reminds me that just because I am not perfect at one thing, doesn't mean I can't excel at something else. And if I haven't found it yet, it just means I need to keep looking for it and trying new things.

And the last one is my personal mantra:

I try to keep a positive attitude about things. Don't get me wrong, I have bad days. Times when I am upset. But I found staying happy and letting things roll off of me keeps the days going better, and keeps me feeling better and younger. What are quotes that you love? Thirty Days Day 07- A Song For The Day(ok ok, band of the day!)

I could never pick just one song of the say, and definitely could not pick just one song by band or singer.  So I chose a whole band! Look at me breaking the rules. The song I chose to start off this playlist is called Strange Girls, and is one of my favorite songs by a band that I love called The Vandelles. I have been following them for a few years now. The sound? They remind me of The Cramps mixed with The Velvet Underground Mixed with the Beach Boys mixed with The Raveonettes mixed with Jesus and Mary Chain. Click on their name and it will take you to their facebook page. You can also find their Bandcamp site HERE. They are pretty awesome. You should check them out and like their facebook page. And buy their stuff!

VALS Personality Survey- Join In!

As part of my Persuasion in the Media class I am taking, we had to take an online personality accessment called The VALS Survey. You can find it HERE or google VALS Survey, and it is the first to come up. I came up as a Striver, and it it almost 100% accurate. I took it three times, and I got the same answer every time. Here is what it said about me:

Strivers:

Strivers are trendy and fun loving. Because they are motivated by achievement, Strivers are concerned about the opinions and approval of others. Money defines success for Strivers, who don't have enough of it to meet their desires. They favor stylish products that emulate the purchases of people with greater material wealth. Many Strivers see themselves as having a job rather than a career, and a lack of skills and focus often prevents them from moving ahead. Strivers are active consumers because shopping is both a social activity and an opportunity to demonstrate to peers their ability to buy. As consumers, they are as impulsive as their financial circumstance will allow.

What did you get? Let me know in the comments below! I am always interested to see if the answers for other people reflect their personality. Have a good tuesday!

Thirty Days Day 06- A Book I'm Reading

These days it seems like I don't have the time to read anything other than paperwork at my job, or my book for my class, or online for my class. Did I mention homework? I thought it might need to be repeated just one more time. A book that I have been reading the last few weeks was this one:

It is called You're a Horrible Person, But I Like You ( You can buy it HERE ). It is a collection of advice asked to celebrities(mostly comedians). The book so far is just eh, but I figure with people writing in it such as Aziz Ansari, Judd Aptow, Fred Armisen, Michael Cera, Rainn Wilson, and a million other seriously funny people, it has to get  better soon, right? I would say it is a book to get from the library, but definitely not one to buy unless it is discounted. What are you reading right now?

I wasn't going to post anything political, but...

I saw this picture of the local record store and had to share.

I hope everyone in the United States goes out and votes, no matter what party you are or who you are voting for. It's a right we do not want to lose. And maybe all of those people who say one person can't change things? Maybe if everyone who thought like that voted instead things WOULD change.

Music Monday

30 Days Day 05- My Hometown

I actually live in my hometown still. I have never actually lived anywhere else for an extended period of time. St.Louians have a tendency to stay here. Not only stay here but if others want to move to a different city the main question is why? And instead of asking what college you went to, the question everybody from st.louis asks when they meet a new person is what high school did you go to? By knowing what high school the person went to, you knew what part of town they grew up in. St. Louis has over 100 different municipalities, each one having their own police deptartment, fire department, and city hall. For example, I went to Ritenour High School. One of my favorite parts of St.Louis is the Delmar Loop. I lived behind it for three years, and I still hang out there all the time.

Best Root Beer Around

Great Burgers, and has a great smaller venue to see concerts. I once met John Kerry there.

Chuck Berry!

One of my favorite theaters

THE best venue to see a concert at hands down

Woofies Chicago Style Hot Dogs-My FAVORITE place to eat ever

So, there you have it. There are a million other places in St.Louis that are awesome, way too many to put in one blog post, so I thought I would give a little sampling of my day to day life and where I hung out growing up. 30 Days Day 4- A Friend I Adore

Not many people can say they have been friends with their best friend for their whole life, but I am lucky enough to say I can. We were neighbors, and our parents were(and still are) good friends. For as long as I can remember, we have been friends. We haven't even had a major fight. (I better knock on wood now!).
